Description

The Arco Vallaresso is a monument in Padua built by Giovan Battista della Scala in 1632 in honor of Alvise Vallaresso, a Venetian captain in Padua (the position was equivalent to that of a prefect).
The arch honors the efforts made by Vallaresso to help the people of Padua during the plague epidemic of 1630.
In the courtyard behind, known as Corte Vallaresso, some surviving walls of the ancient Carrarese palace can be visited.
