Description
This wine tasting in Piazza dei Signori takes place in the heart of Padua, in the old town's main square. It lasts about an hour and is simple in format: good local products, tasted without fuss.
You are poured five wines, 75 ml each, and the platter is built to go with them:
- Wines: Prosecco rosé, Valpolicella Ripasso, Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Fior d'Arancio
- A Venetian platter: three fried polenta balls, Prosciutto Veneto PDO, soppressa and rolled pancetta
- Fresh artisan bread
When the weather is warm, the tasting is held out in the square, in the spirit of the Italian aperitivo. If not, you move into an ancient shop that was once a storehouse for a Venetian Republic trader, which gives the tasting a historic backdrop.
Every guest takes home a La Prosciutteria branded glass, so it also works as a gift. Tell the staff about allergies; gluten-free bread can be arranged, and the wines can be swapped for beer or alcohol-free drinks. It runs in English, Spanish and Italian.
